The last of the Israeli army left Gaza today. The first act of the Palestinians after occupation? They're burning the synagogues that were left behind. What is the excuse for the rioters?
Interior Minister Tawfiq al-Husa promised the buildings would be destroyed. Other officials said Israel had "trapped" the Palestinians.
"Trapped" by the presence of buildings left behind. Always the victims. Always the fault of the Jews. Even from afar, free in Gaza, they are merely puppets controlled by the Jews.
Is it possible to change a culture in which victim hood is so entrenched? I would venture that it isn't for this generation, and unless and until there is a breakthrough in the mosques, the education, and the leadership, the people of Gaza are doomed to play the victim for eternity.
