So, it's big celebrity gossip that Demi Moore married Ashton Kutcher this weekend.  I actually think Bruce Willis is hotter in that bad-boy kind of way, but if she wants Ashton, more power to her.  The age thing, Demi 42 and Ashton 27, doesn't phase faze me in the least.  I sure wouldn't want to try to keep a Hollywood marriage together, but marriage in general...it's a good thing.

Update:  Thank to Aelfheld for pointing out the phase/faze confusion. That's right!  The age difference does not shoot me with an energy weapon.

Beef that's Sky High

Russia’s long winter will just fly by for a herd of Russian cows which, a newspaper reported on Tuesday, will be fed confiscated marijuana over the cold months.

Drug workers said they adopted the unusual form of animal husbandry after they were forced to destroy the sunflowers and maize crops that the 40 ton of marijuana had been planted among, Novye Izvestia daily reported.

FedEx Furniture

Most of us have been young and broke at some time in our lives.  Ahh the days of one bedroom efficiencies and crazy landlord stories.  I think everyone should experience them to build character.

Jose Avila found himself paying double rent due to a move leaving no money for extras, like furniture.  So he built furniture out of FedEx boxes.

FedEx is playing the big bad corporation, and has taken legal action to try to get his site taken down.

But that feel-good message seems to be lost on FedEx. The company claims that Avila is infringing on its trademark and its copyright. The day after Avila launched the site in June, FedEx asked him to take it down, claiming he had violated the DMCA.

I love FedEx.  They are hands down the most reliable shipper domestic or international.  They beat everyone else to Asia and back every time.  I have to sympathize with them.  They're really in a no win spot on this deal.

They either play the bad guy and try to kill this story, or if they let it ride under the idea that it promotes their name, they'll end up with a ton of 20 somethings furnishing their apartments with free FedEx boxes.  Do the math.  This unintended free service would add up really fast, with no return for the company or their stockholders.

One solution would be for them to start charging a nominal fee for their boxes, which sucks for all the rest of us.  Don't get me wrong.  I love the fact that Jose was creative enough to come up with a cool solution to his dilemma and he should be free to let the world know about it.  But, I have to also acknowledge it's no win for FedEx.

Dragons in Tibet?

On June 22, 2004, the photographer went to Tibet’s Amdo region to attend the Qinghai-to-Xizang Railroad laying ceremony, and then took a plane from Lhasa to fly back inland. When flying over the Himalaya’s, he accidentally caught these two "dragons" in a picture that he took. He called these two objects "the Tibet dragons."

It would be cool to discover the creatures of so many legends were real, (well, as long as they're not feeding off your village, I guess.) Unfortunately the pictures here are not likely to do so.  First, they're too small.  Second, you just can't trust any photo these days.  Tech:  the double edged sword.

The 6ft musician — dubbed The Piano Man — is believed to have suffered a nervous breakdown which has deprived him of his memory and left him unable to communicate except through drawings and a remarkable ability for music.

Two police officers discovered him stumbling along a road near a beach in Sheerness, Kent, during a storm last month. Police said that he was soaked to the skin, possibly from the heavy rain, but his clothes were so drenched that they thought he may have been in the sea.
