The Captain, who recently revealed his secret night time occupation, has offered a Jim Croce double-CD album for anyone who can get him blogrolled at either Instapundit or LGF.
His move was inspired by Brant at Strange Women Lying in Ponds, who will pony up an Al Jarreau CD to anyone who can get him blogrolled at LGF.
This is starting to remind me of the commercial with the waitress whose patrons vie for quick service by bidding up the percentage they are willing to tip.
It would be interesting, as a comment on the blogosphere, to find out the market value of a LGF or Instapundit link. Imagine if Glenn or Charles put the opportunity up on ebay. What price would lesser known bloggers be willing to pay for the exposure of a big blog link? You have to admit it's more capitalist in nature than the tip jar.
Maybe we could get a checkbox on the 1040 as they do for presidential election funding.
"Will you donate US$1.00 of your refund to fund the campaign of newer bloggers to be linked on a top 30 site?"
Blog? What in tarnation is a blog, Martha?

This may be a problem; if a couple of million people check the box, do I have to cough up that many Jim Croce albums? We may put "Time in a Bottle" back into the Top 10!
