This poem was written a number of years ago for a friend who was going through a hard time. It's very close to my heart and I bring it out every couple years. Like a good soup it's taken on the flavors of new memories over time. (To read the entire poem, click on the link under the line, "The dance was for you.")
Faith Dance
I danced for you today,
With tears of both sorrow and joy,
The dance was for you.
To send you the joy I felt in my heart,
And the faith that is my rock,
In the hope I could take away some of your pain.
My feet moved,
And tears flowed,
The song wasn’t important,
The feelings were.
Did you feel it?
When you stand on the edge,
And look into that black hole,
Reach for the hand of faith,
And dance with me, dance.
Away from the edge,
Your feet and your soul,
Your sorrow and your joy.
Let your feet move,
And tears flow,
The song isn’t important,
The feeling is.
Do you feel it?
