Weekend Wrap-Up
Well this weekend sure has been a mixed bag. I was going to rant about the parent who sent their plague-infested urchin to The Governor's daycare center last week and thereby ensured I spent most of this weekend administering medicine and staying up late with a sick kid, but that was overshadowed by the great night I had at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on Friday evening.
Saturday I had dinner with a few high school friends I had not seen in a while. I had to sit through a lecture on oppressed minimum wage laborers, listen to a rant on the tyrannical Boy Scouts of America, and bite my tongue through a lament of how under-appreciated Dennis Kucinich is. But they were treating me to dinner for my birthday, and I didn't want to start a fight on their dime. I did get in a plug for the Taxpayers League, but the gal who works for the League of Women Voters cried, "Arch Enemies," and looked ready to faint. So I let it drop. (Note to David: I think you're off the LWV Christmas card list. Sorry.)
Today is falling back on the asset side of the ledger. Fresh snowfall, and I'm still in my pajamas. I finished the book I was reading on Lucrezia Borgia. Quite possibly the most boring biography I've ever read. Barely a full sentence on the whole incest scandal (no proof!), and not a word on any alleged poisonings. I could be wrong. I fell asleep and drooled in my book and made several paragraphs illegible. What a dud. I should have known it was going to be dull when the back cover was full of praise for a different book.
But I can't complain too much. It isn't often that I can lounge around all day and read. I'm heading to bed now. I might shower first - my husband is lobbying heavily that I do so - but that would really wreck the indolent attitude I've adopted. I might even aim for a household record and see if I can get away with this tomorrow as well. One must always have goals.

AH, St.Kate; do the old man a favor and spruce it up a bit. Lounging around the the estate is great, especially after a snowfall, but you must maintain your spousal duties and remain presentable.
Best of luck to Husband in the Wright.
Regards,mg

Mike,
You will be relieved to know I did indeed take a shower last night. And it paid off. The VP extends his gratitude for your support.
