Happy Day
With the greatest of pleasure I am able to announce that The Governor went to the bathroom like a Big Boy today. I'm not talking sinking the Cheerios, folks, I'm talking Number Two. We've had the mechanics of urinating into the toilet sewn-up for nearly a week, but today was the inaugural use of the Charmin. He could be solving quadratic equations tomorrow, and I wouldn't be as elated as I am right now.
He's grasped the concept. He's got the idea. Grab the Ranger Rick, wait patiently, strain occasionally, and victory is yours. As a reward, he finally got his hands on the Green Archer superhero action figure I had displayed on the kitchen table. He's been coveting it for a week. He's happy. I'm happy.
Between leaping around the house singing Te Deums and scratching "diapers" off my Target list, I realized, though, that I'm never going to have a thoroughly clean toilet in the house until both boys are off to college. I'm having a tough enough time keeping up with the males who allegedly know how to use the fixture now. I'd make them clean up after themselves, but they don't see it as a problem until your bedroom slippers are sticking to the bathroom floor. I can't live like that.
But today I'm too happy to dwell on that. If tossing out the diaper pail means buying paper towels and 409 in bulk quantities, so be it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I feel a Hallelujah chorus coming on...

Boy - and I thought I had it bad having to clean up birdie poop all the time!
Congratulations - I think :))

Green Archer? Is that some kind of cheap knock-off version of Green Arrow?
He used to be cool until the late sixties when DC Comics had him lose his fortune and turned him into a raving leftist. Then he kept getting into arguments with Hawkman. Hawkman is cool. :-)

I use Archer/Arrow interchangeably. I believe the current Justice League cartoons have him as Archer though. And there is a Hawkgirl, but I have yet to see Hawkman on the recent episodes. (She rules; she smashes everything with her mace.)

YAY for you and the Gov'ner! It was exactly one year ago this month that my youngest crossed the threshold.
I'm extremely lucky in that both of my boys are sitzpinklers, as the Germans say. It really does save me a lot of clean up.
Until lately, when my youngest has decided that he doesn't need to "scooch back" as much, so as much goes out of the toilet as into it.
I recommend Clorox Wipes, in the huge containers from Sam's Club. They smell great and are really quick and handy.
