Iraqis React to Saddam Capture

The whole world benefits when evil is overcome, but none has reason to rejoice more than the Iraqi's who lived under the brutal reign of Saddam. So, I give over this post to them, and add their blogs to the sidebar.

Healing Iraq: Begun in October by Zeyad who lives in Baghdad. He reports an unexpected reaction.

I had no reason to, but I felt humiliated. I sank into an overwhelming depression and sadness, and I had a desperate need to get terribly drunk. I should have felt joy but I didn't. And I'm still dissapointed with myself.

Where is Raed: This is Salam Pax's blog that everyone was following during the war. He most recently elicited the F word from Lileks, (end of Bleat.) Love him or hate him, his reaction:

Why do all the interesting things happen when I am not in baghdad?
...
I want a fully functioning Saddam who will sit on a chair in front of a TV camera for 10 hours everyday and tells us what exactly happened the last 30 years. I do not care about the fair trial thing Amnesty Int. is worried about and I don'r really care much about the fact that the Iraqi judges might not be fullt qualified, we all know he should rot in hell. but what I do care about is that he gets a public trial because I want to hear all the untold stories

The Mesopotamian: Started by Alaa in November, an engineer in Baghdad. Hi reaction here:

If the news we are just hearing about the capture of the Monster is true then I thank God for letting me live to this day to see this. Will report to you later.
And here:
Before this, I prayed the traditional prayers of thanksgiving. That I, and the Iraqi people should see this day! This, surely, is the mother of all days for us. The heroes of our valiant Pesh Mergas, and the heroes of the U.S. Fourth division have done it. Now is the time to unleash the Iraqi Counter Terror; now is the time to go for the kill. Let us go after them. Don’t lose this moment. They want to recant and live in equality with the people? they have a chance - otherwise they will have to go. I am too overwhelmed with emotion to write coherently; please excuse me..................Long live the great alliance of Mesopotamia and the United States of America and her allies. Now is the time, now is the time; Do not delay; unleash the Counter Terror.

God Bless Iraq; God Bless America; God bless the Allies.

And above all Praise be to Allah the Almighty the Avenger.

Iraq at a Glance: Authored by A.Y.S. a dentist in Baghdad. His reaction of jubilation:

I don’t know what to say.. I am confused.. no … I am very happy.. I am very happy.. .. I am very happy.. .. I am very happy.. .. I am very happy.. .. I am very happy.. .. I am very happy.. This is the end of tyranny.. congratulations .. a great day.. for Iraqi and all the good people.. share us our great day.. I can’t express my feelings.. thanks to the coalition forces and all the honest people who helped in that great operation….thank you thank you thousand times.. Huhhhhhuaaa... look at the monkey!!!

Iraq the Model: Omar, who seems to be friends with Zayed and Alaa. Unfortunately, Blogspot permalinks seem to be hosed, so read the first three posts. Excerpts:

Horrraaaaa It's the justice day. I'm speechless. I'm crying. The tyrants' hour has finally came. I went down to the streets to share the joy with my brothers. This is our day, the day of all the oppressed and good people on earth. Tears of joy filled the eyes of all the people. Saddam, the coward, hides in a hole, shaking in fear from being captured.

...

It's indeed an inauspicious day for all the tyrants. Let them know that their days are near too.
This is the day of all Iraqi martyrs who were slaughtered just to please his sick lust for blood.
Rest in peace my brothers. The paradise is yours and the disgrace and hell is for all the tyrants on earth.
Thank you American, British, Spanish, Italian, Australian, Ukrainian, Japanese and all the coalition people and all the good people on earth.
God bless the 1st brigade.
God bless the 4th infantry division.
God bless Iraq.
God bless America.
God bless the coalition people and soldiers.
God bless all the freedom loving people on earth.
I wish I could hug you all.

...
The past 24 hours were full of joy and happiness beyond description.
Tens of thousands of Iraqis all over Iraq demonstrating and celebrating the capture of the tyrant.

...

This was so hard for the power of evil to tolerate. In
the last 24 hours they have carried on some attacks that resulted in killing 10 innocent Iraqis and injured several others.
They hate us that much and they hate seeing us free.

...

Even if they kill us all, we will die free, and satisfied
seeing justice being served.

This last one I have to post in full:

A Word Of Consolation

In the midst of our celebrations and joy, we forgot our brothers on the other side of the front.
Dear Arab and Muslim tyrants.
Dear Bin Laden and Al-Quaeda.
Dear Ba'athists and fascists.
Dear terrorists of the world.
Dear al-Jazeera and al-Arabia and all independent Arab media.
All the truly evil people in the world.
All those who loved Saddam.
All freedom haters.
Please accept my sincere and deepest contempt to you and your hero.
May God blind your eyes more and more.
May you follow your Godfather through his glorious path to hell.
May you live long enough to face the same destiny.
Take heart, the moment of joining your hero is near.
Have no despair, as in the truly and honestly evil soul of each one of you; I can see another saddam waiting for the right time to be crowned as the next king of demons.
May your idol rest in hell.
God curse you all.

And just one advise, dig a deeper hole. Or make that: holes.

I think that sums it up nicely, don't you?
